Hello there! I'm Mary Clayton, the founder of True's Gourmet Hot Mustard. I just wanted to share a little bit about our mustard. This recipe has been in our family for generations, passed down from my grandmother to my mother. It has always added a unique flavor to our meals and was continuously appreciated by friends and family.

In 2020, when the pandemic hit, my work as a freelance photo stylist was put on hold. To keep myself occupied and not drive my family crazy, I started making my mother's famous hot mustard. The response was overwhelming. The requests for the mustard kept coming, and that's when I realized that this family recipe had the potential to be much more. 

 

With encouragement from friends and colleagues, I decided to turn this beloved recipe into a business. I named the company after my mother, Trueheart, who at 89, is still actively involved in making her mustard. She definitely serves as the end all-be all when it comes to quality control!

 

Transitioning from a family recipe to a commercial product required more than just passion. I needed to learn a lot about what goes in to food product development.  It is ongoing learning curve, but one that is so rewarding because I get to share this family legacy on with you!
